My name is Phyllis and I am the principal monitor of La kidz-first. I am a loving grandmother with experience dealing with difficult family situations.

I have led classes for parents of minimally handicapped parents and I was a teacher's assistant in a pre-school class for children with autism and mood disorders.

I have an A.A. degree in Psychology and have been trained to deal with disabled and emotionally challenged children.

As a visitation monitor, I am focused on the safety and comfort of your children. Through her training and experience, Phyllis is able to stay focused on your children and remain impartial to each parent. Her reports are based on FACTS and not on any type of judgements.

Phyllis has also been trained to deal with children in Foster Care who have been traumatized by parents. In order to be involved with children in Foster Care you need to know how to deal with what has occurred in the child's life. Children are dealing with grief from being away from parents and need to be handled in a very special way.

What is TrustLine?   Visit the TrustLine website http://www.trustline.org/

TrustLine was created by the California Legislature to give parents an important tool to use when selecting a caregiver for their children. All child care providers listed with TrustLine have submitted their fingerprints to the California Department of Justice and have no disqualifying child abuse reports or disqualifying criminal convictions in California.

In addition, some but not all child care providers listed with TrustLine have also received a clearance from an FBI criminal record check.

TrustLine Benefits Parents.

When it comes to entrusting your children to a nanny or babysitter, parents know they must select a caregiver very carefully. Until now, parents interviewed, checked references, and evaluated the provider's character using their own best judgment. Now there is additional help...

TrustLine is a powerful new resource if you want to hire a nanny or license-exempt child care provider. But it is still your responsibility to make certain that a caregiver is cleared by TrustLine. You should also call TrustLine from time to time to see that the provider is in good standing. Nannies and babysitters placed through an employment agency must be listed on the TrustLine registry or be a current applicant.

TrustLine is a registry that...

Uses the California Criminal History System to check the fingerprints of applicants:

1. Examines California's Child Abuse Central Index for substantiated child abuse
2. Has access to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal history records
3. Verifies an applicant's identification number with the Department of Motor vehicles or the Immigration and Naturalization Service
4. Employment agencies are required to use

Once listed with TrustLine, a caregiver remains on the registry for life (unless removed because of a subsequent disqualifying conviction or substantiated child abuse report), and can offer the 800 number as a reference for future employers.
